Lonavala is home to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the Western Ghats. Among them, Kune Falls and the nearby Kuneshwar Temple offer a perfect morning or evening outing for travelers looking to experience both scenic beauty and quiet devotion.
Kune Falls: A Three-Tiered Wonder
Kune Falls is the 14th highest waterfall in India, cascading down from a height of 200 meters. Nestled against the backdrop of the lush green Sahyadri hills, the waterfall drops in three distinct tiers. The sight of the water plunging down the deep valley surrounded by thick forest is spectacular, especially during the monsoons.
Kuneshwar Temple
Located near the falls, the Kuneshwar Temple is a ancient Shiva temple surrounded by old trees. It is highly peaceful and provides a wonderful place for meditation and silent prayer away from the bustling tourist hubs of the town center.
